How Flex (Coworking) Space Saves You Money
It costs money to work.
Even if it isn’t coming out of your pocket, an employer must pay for all kinds of things including office space, hydro, technology, internet, subscriptions, stationary, furniture, and even refreshments (including filtered water). Whether you are a remote worker for a company or a digital independent, you likely have expenses associated with your work environment - even if that is your couch!
Using a Flex or co-working space can be a great way to save money while still enjoying a professional work environment. Here are just some of the ways that having a membership at USTATION can actually SAVE you money.
A Variety of Memberships to Fit Your Needs… and Budget!
Consider the cost to manage and maintain a traditional office space - the rents alone can eat up a significant part of any budget. Even if you work from home, every square foot costs.
Many companies (big and small) are opting to save money and purchase memberships for employees to work flexible schedules.
This isn’t to say that the traditional 9:00 am - 5:00 pm has simply moved to coworking spaces. Some people find value in working even once a week outside of their usual environment. There are flexible plans to fit every working type from occasional drop-ins to shared plans with coworkers.
Traditional office space is purchased by the square foot and often requires multiyear commitments. There is no consideration given to the number of people using the space, only the space that is needed as a whole. Save money by getting the plan that works for you, no more and no less.
Shared Use of Expensive Equipment and Technology
How often do you use a printer? Often enough to justify owning one and have it take up valuable real estate in your home or office? Probably not. Coworking spaces like USTATION have shared technology like printers, scanners, cameras and projectors to name a few.
The Internet isn’t cheap and, if it is, it isn’t always reliable. It also can be unsafe, especially in public spaces like a coffee shop or even the airport. Rest assured that a tech-enabled space like USTATION has a fast and safe internet connection included in your membership.
Access to Professional Meeting Rooms and Mailboxes
When having a professional meeting at your dining room table or a coffee shop isn’t appropriate, you can always rent one of our tech-enabled spaces. If you are a member, there are additional incentives, discounts and meeting room time allotted in most memberships for space use outside of the Concourse. Each meeting room is enabled with the same reliable technology to display your presentation on the big screen or have a video call.
In addition to having meetings in a space that is designed for that purpose, you can also sign up for a professional mailbox. This is an especially valuable service for those who are self-employed or who have a virtual team. Having USTATION as the receiver of your business mail is more professional than having business-related documents sent to your personal residence and contributes to a more professional image. Also when a potential client googles you and sees an image of your home because that is your listed business address, it is not very professional or safe. With Professional Presence, you can use USTATIONs street address and curated photos of the space as your own. Also, many government agencies and customers require an actual address, not a PO Box to respond to proposals and tenders.
Coffee is on the House!
While it may not seem like much, the price of coffee adds up! If you find yourself working from a cafe most days, those $5.00 specialty coffees can add up to the price of a membership in no time. While USTATION doesn’t have trained baristas on staff, we do offer complimentary coffee available at the touch of a button.
Networking Opportunities
Okay, this one doesn’t save you money but it has the potential to make you money. Your next client, customer, partner, or even employer could be sitting right across from you!
USTATION members can take advantage of events and perks: networking events, workshops, and educational sessions available for members. Participating in these events not only provides opportunities for professional growth but also helps you make connections and build relationships within the community.
Co-working spaces provide a cost-effective alternative to traditional office spaces and offer a range of benefits that can help you thrive both professionally and financially.
